Tie dye and clay workshop for children with special needs by Ormawa FSRD Usakti at Rumah Autis Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.a

The Student Organization (Ormawa) of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Trisakti University conducted a social service tie dye and clay workshop with the theme “Creativity Beyond Rainbow” which was held on December 9, 2022 at Rumah Autis Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, which was attended by Susi Irma, S.Sn, M.Ds., as Deputy Dean III FSRD Usakti, and the management of Rumah Autis Tanjung Priok Jakarta.

This activity is a form of concern for children with special needs, to increase creativity, fun and memorable for the workshop participants, said Melisha Arifta (FSRD Student) who is also the chief executive of the tie dye and clay workshop activities.

Deputy Dean III FSRD opened the activity by expressing his gratitude for the opportunity given to Usakti FSRD Students who could carry out social service activities at this Autistic Home, the purpose of the workshop activities provided was to improve creativity skills for children with special needs and give them confidence in what they have made and as the best work they can be proud of.

The activity continued with the awarding of certificates to the management of the Autistic Home, giving certificates to participants, as well as the implementation of tie dye and clay workshops where children could be creative with clothing media to make their work, Tie dye is one of the arts of decorating clothes using ink to produce a unique and interesting pattern, in the clay workshop participants from autistic children were very happy to make various shapes with their own hands to train creativity for children.
