New Students of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of Trisakti University participated in the Eco Print Workshop training held in the Gallery Room Building N Trisakti University on November 12, 2022.

Vice Dean III FSRD Susy Irma, S.Sn, M.Ds., welcomed the Eco Print Workhop training, as a Design Student, clothing and other functional products are an effort to pour ideas and creativity. The method used to implement a way to emphasize the identity and self-expression of the point is the Ecoprint method, the results of which will be exhibited through a fashion show at the closing of the Creative Guidance (Bimkraf) FSRD Usakti event on November 26, 2022.

Dra Damayanti Budiarti, M.Hum., Lecturer of FSRD Usakti as well as the speaker said that Eco-print can be interpreted as a printing technique on fabric using dyes from natural materials and making motifs from leaves manually, namely by sticking until the motif appears on the fabric. The use of natural materials is related to the environment. This is what makes the Eco-print technique important. Because the condition of nature and the environment is increasingly worrying, awareness of preserving the environment is increasing. Eco-print can support the SDGs program (the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development) which has a background to encourage social, economic and environmental development. Especially in the goal of “Promoting Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth, Productive and Comprehensive Employment Opportunities, and Decent Work for All”. This eco-print is expected to create new business opportunities and generate decent work opportunities as well as stronger, more inclusive growth and poverty reduction.

The event continued with the practice of eco-printing and displaying the best work of the training participants.

Hopefully this training activity can add creativity and insight and become a business opportunity for the trainees.
